Ruckinge, Kent 2012 celebrates Olympic torch relay

Ruckinge, Kent celebrated the iconic flame passing through Hamstreet on 18 July 2012, by taking part in a netball tournament to mark this very special day.
alexandrapatrick supported the netball tournament which was one of a host of sports and entertainment events held at Pound Leas Hamstreet. In preparation, Maria Callow, a Ruckinge, Kent resident approached the local Parish Council to see if it would be interested in playing a role in making it an extra special community event.
Stephen Denis, Chairman of Ruckinge Parish Council said: “The Olympic flame passing through Hamstreet is a moment in history. We were delighted to sponsor the Ruckinge 2012 netball team shirts and contribute to what is a once in a life time opportunity.”
The tournament was watched by scores of local residents and friends plus visitors from surrounding villages.
Maria Callow, director of alexandrapatrick a local business said: “The team shirts really made us feel proud to represent Ruckinge and to be part of a wonderful sense of community.”
