Folkestone Triennuial 2017

Delighted to attend the Folkestone Triennial 2017 at The Quarterhouse in the Creative Quarter, Folkestone. The Folkestone Triennial returns for its fourth edition and runs from 2 September – 5 November 2017.

The concept ‘double edge’ was developed by curator Lewis Biggs, it refers to two borders that define Folkestone – the seashore and the Pent Stream watercourse, a town of rich and poor encapsulating the historic edge to Folkestone and present day.

World-class recognised artists have been commissioned to make new contemporary artworks exhibited in public spaces around the town. To support the event there will be a series of walks, talks, workshops and study days throughout the nine weeks showcasing newly commissioned public art.

The funder of the Folkestone Triennial is local Roger De Haan, whose vision for restoring Folkestone includes culture, upmarket eateries and architect-designed beachfront property.
