Cakes for Haiti is a fund raising initiative taking place on March 26. alexandrapatrick was on hand to help gourmet cake-maker, Delicakes, do their bit.

On March 26, a national cake sale will take place with all proceeds going to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake. It is the brainchild of Janet Mohapi-Banks who was so moved by the tragic events in the Caribbean that she decided to organise this giant cake sale.

As a professional cake designer herself, it seemed the natural thing to do; after all, we all love a cake and everyone from schoolkids to professional caterers can get involved.

alexandrapatrick did their bit by supporting luxury cake maker Delicakes. Experienced food photographer Duncan Callow freely gave his time to shoot some of the scrumptious DeliCakes creations that will be used in the Cakes for Haiti sale.

Owner Janet McKenner said: “This is such a worthy cause that I felt I had to contribute. alexandrapatrick did a terrific job of photographing some of my cakes — we’ll use the images to promote the event to the widest possible audience.”

“I’m donating 25% of all cake sales that week, and every bit donated goes a long way. Everyone get baking or buy from a registered cake sale!”
